| The Place so serene and awe-inspiring, Baywatch residency located at the Puri beach, Orissa is sprawling over vast land which is a prime property yet decentralized and away from the hustle–bustle of the pilgrimage key spot – the very famous Lord Jagganath temple of Orissa. The calm extensive garden area with splendid view of Bay of Bengal at the horizon certainly gives the space the much desired tranquility. The back entrance is also enclosed in green and manicured garden fringed by majestic trees, Baywatch is an oasis of calm. The site which is captured from the window of the premium seven sea-facing suites at the residency is astonishing. The sparkling sea water and clear sky welcomes you when you peep out of the suite balconies. The air-conditioned suites are comprises separate living & bedrooms. In all there are 16 suites, each are spacious and well ventilated spaces which get soaked in morning sunlight at the daybreak and the twilight brings the purple hue to some. They have been renovated and furnished using traditional Indian crafts. Impeccably selected interiors for each room confirm uniqueness. Giving each a different appeal stapled by the mirrors of colonial period, almirah from the babu household or a seatee from the Bengali household’s living room of 19th century. The cinema stills have also found there ways into the suite interiors from Hindi movie of 1950s & 60s. Genuine collectible vintage movie posters adorn the walls of the stairways and the lobby too.
The other side of the stairways overlooks a heritage monument’s periphery from where view of the temple with all its austerity creates a soulful atmosphere. This temple is considered the maternal home of goddess laxmi, wife of Lord Jagganath the presiding deity of the city. The temple is sacred and renowned as a must visit for a pilgrim to finish off his ritual-route. Only married women can enter the precincts of the sanctum-santorium. Astounding beauty of the temple adds to the residencies garden view. Hence, it offers comfortable surroundings, friendly staff, and a restful, creative atmosphere. Guests have come for a night and stayed for a month!
The idea behind establishing this residency came up from the proprietor’s artist friend who proposed an idea for a space away from maddening crowd of metropolis… Thus the innate idea is grounded in the notion that to create, artists need uninterrupted time and space. To hone the creativity of the visitor we have plans to establish separate studio space for them in the near future. We are proposing this as a recluse for artist, writers and musicians, or even a true traveler who wants to stay by, look around and enjoy the untainted beauty of the virgin beach, Baywatch residency welcomes you!!! |
